At Parents' Information Evenings at the beginning of the 2015-16 academic year, I outlined the difficult financial circumstances faced by the school over the next few years. Stroud High School is determined to ensure the educational experience your daughter receives is not compromised, but there is a stark reality which means there is less money for the school to spend.
The photographs on the right show some of the projects that have been funded over the years by charitable donations and 'Parent Power', which have not only benefited existing students, but left a legacy for future students - including your daughter.
They range from a dance studio and gym equipment, to a MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) and tennis courts, from classroom technology and radio station equipment, to a courtyard canopies and picnic benches.
However, if we are to continue providing these experience enhancing 'extras', which cannot be funded from school budgets, we need your help and support.
How can you help?
Large streams from little fountains flow, tall oaks from little acorns grow ...
By supporting 'The Acorn Fund' you will enable us to plan future projects that will benefit our students' education, and which school finances alone would not be able to provide. Whilst we would be very happy for anything you think you can donate, ideally a regular payment via direct debit would enable us to plan in the longer term for larger projects:
If you would like to make either a one-off, or regular, donation to 'The Acorn Fund' you can do this in a number of ways:
Donate through 'Tucasi'
Donate through 'Virgin Money Giving'
