Build A Plane

Build A Plane

The Schools Build A Plane Challenge was set up by Boeing and the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) with the aim of interesting young people in STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Maths) subjects as well as increasing the awareness of how these subjects are relevant in the ‘real world’

The Stroud project has been running since 2009 and included Stroud High School, Marling School and Maidenhill School in Gloucestershire

Together with a group of teachers, adult volunteers and mentors a group of around 60 students across the three schools have worked tirelessly to build a real, live and fully functional light aircraft.
