Book Fair 2016

From 3-9 November Stroud High hosted the annual Scholastic Book Fair in the library. It was really popular with the students – the library was buzzing with activity! This year we had a particularly great selection of books to choose from including: Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs, Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake and Carnegie award winning One by Sarah Crossan. Once again it was an amazing book fair with many books having to be reordered on the first day of the fair! Overall, the book fair made a massive total of £1198.45, our new record total! – Holly, Year 10

Thank you to all who got involved with the Book Fair this year! As you can see from Holly’s comments it was an incredible experience and would have been completely impossible without the students who came in to buy, the staff and parent support, and those students who donated their break and lunchtimes to help out. Our records of the Fair go back to 1996 and this has been our highest total ever which means an incredible £717 in Scholastic Rewards to help towards new fiction titles for the library. Keep your eyes out on our Twitter feed @StroudHighLib for images of some of the new books that will be in the library shortly. – Miss Jones
