Stroud High Students Go Through To Young Fashion Designer of the Year 2107 Finals

Two of our budding Textiles and Fashion designers, Pippa Newport for GCSE and Sophie Willis for AS have been selected as finalists in the Young Fashion Designer of the Year 2107 Competition. A representation of their coursework was condensed onto three A3 presentation boards which were sent for initial judging. It was important to communicate the inspiration, development and outcome clearly and we were thrilled when we learnt that Pippa and Sophie had both been selected as one of the six finalists in their categories.

Pippa and Sophie will be displaying both their design and practical work at ‘The Royal Grammar School’ in Worcester on Saturday 24 June along with five other finalists from GCSE, AS and A2 students. The students will also be interviewed by a panels of judges made up of a range of industry professionals to discuss their work. The competition is sponsored by Morplan and as well as a variety of prizes for winners there is also the opportunity for work experience and involvement in future fashion and textile events. We wish them both luck and hope that they enjoy this wonderful experience.
