Textiles Trip to New Designers’ Exhibition

On Friday 29 June Stroud High students who have chosen to study Textiles travelled to London to visit the New Designers’ Exhibition at the Business Design Centre in Islington. Over 80 universities showcased the work of their 3rd year degree students with over 1500 individual displays of the best in Textiles and Fashion, Costume Design, Surface Pattern Design, Ceramics, Glass, Jewellery and Contemporary Design Crafts.

Despite the extremely hot weather and London traffic, students were buoyant and enthusiastic as they soaked up the creative atmosphere and had the chance to study the fantastic range of work on show, chat to the students and tutors and gather valuable materials both for their coursework and for their forthcoming UCAS selections.

The wide range of work on show from the universities was both inspiring and informative as students were able to see the different approaches taken, compare courses and learn about professional presentation and marketing.
