National Handball Finals - Here we come!

Over 2 days, Oxstalls Sports Centre hosted the Regional Handball finals for which our U13 and U15 teams had qualified, after excelling in the County Finals earlier in the year.
The U13 team played a round robin tournament against 5 other teams including some from Shropshire and Somerset. They played superbly all day, winning every match apart from the last one, which was lost to the winners on the day. Coming second overall was enough to secure a spot at the National Finals.
The U15 team faced opposition from similar areas, and also performed outstandingly. The format of their day differed slightly and they won their group which earned them the chance to compete for a place at the National Finals. They duly won this, and the whole tournament and join the U13s as National Finalists.
Huge congratulations to both teams for their achievement - Top 16 in the Country! The National Finals are being held in Nottingham in June and all at SHS wish both teams the best of luck. Go get 'em!
