Appeals

There is an Appeal Process which enables parents/carers to appeal against non-admission to the school. If you are not happy with the allocated school place on 2 March:

Any girls who have met the required standard for Stroud High School can ask to go on our waiting list. Parents must return their request to be added to a preferred school(s) waiting list to the Local Authority by the date specified on the Allocation Day Letter (for Gloucestershire this is 8 March).  For those candidates who live out-of-county in addition to liaising with your own local authority, it is advisable to download the ‘waiting list common application form’ via the GCC website and email the completed form to school.admissions@gloucestershire.gov.uk by 16 March 2026.  The outcome is normally advised to parents by 6 April 2026.

If your daughter has not been successful in gaining a place at Stroud High School for entry in Year 7 in September 2026, you do have a statutory right to appeal before an Independent Admissions Appeal panel. Additionally, if you believe extenuating circumstances may have affected your daughter's performance on the day of the test this may be grounds for your appeal.  You may find it helpful reading the Appeal Guidance Notes, see below.

Please note that the school will be closed for the Easter break from Monday 30 March to Friday 10 April so please request one before this date if possible.

Timeline Information: 

Wednesday 22 April 2026 by 3pm - Deadline for submitting the Appeal Pack form back to Stroud High School

Friday 8 May 2026 by 3pm - Deadline for submitting any additional evidence for your appeal

Appeal Hearings will take place the week commencing 8 June 2026
